The ‘Privredna akademija’ University in Brčko and the Mayor of the Municipality of Pelagićevo, Slavko Tešić, solemnly signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on February 6th, marking the beginning of joint activities.

The memorandum, signed by representatives of the University and the Municipality of Pelagićevo, represents a foundation for future projects that will improve the local community and enable students to have a direct connection with the real sector.
The advantage of this cooperation is visible in areas that are key to the development of the municipality, such as economics, management, informatics, and law. This reduces the departure of young people from our areas and creates professional labor that can contribute to the local economy.
The Rector of the ‘Privredna akademija’ University, Željko Petrić, expressed great satisfaction with the signing of the Memorandum and said that it is extremely important to have mutual support in the development of education and the economy.
‘It is important for the ‘Privredna akademija’ University that students create a clear vision of using theory in practice, and in this way, the municipality gets professional staff who are ready for work in the real sector upon completing their faculty education,’ believes Petrić.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Pelagićevo, Slavko Tešić, believes that in this way, it will be possible to create a better business environment and a stronger economy.
‘In this way, joint work on improving education, research, and local development is formalized. This Memorandum represents an important step towards strengthening the link between the academic community and local self-government, and we have expressed our readiness to further improve cooperation through future projects,’ said Tešić.
The memorandum provides for the possibility of student professional internships in municipal institutions. Also, it was agreed to launch initiatives that will encourage young professionals to stay and develop their careers in the local community.
